Week 35

I had spring break this week so I had lots of opportunities to relax. My mom came in on Monday and helped me organize the nursery a little bit. I did several loads of "baby laundry" so the clothes are all ready for the little guy. He's been super active this week -- I think he knows I'm at home and not at school. We have been blessed with such great weather so I've been out walking the dog every chance I can. I've been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions and what I believe is lightening. My guess is a guy named it "lightening" because the baby does not feel any lighter! The rest of my week has been spent getting last minute things together for my maternity leave. I only have 3 weeks of school left and then I am done. Of course, everyone at school is betting I won't last that long so we'll see. 5 weeks and counting!

Week 34

I went to the doctor again this afternoon. It finally worked out that Aunt Jenna could go, which turned out to be cool for her. As we were waiting, the baby really started moving around and then he got the hiccups. I think he was excited that she was finally able to come to an appointment with us. Everything checked out just fine with the doctor. I mentioned to him about my feet swelling but he wasn't worried because my blood pressure was fine. He was very happy about my weight -- I only gained two pounds since my last appointment! The heartbeat was strong and my measurement was perfect. His only words of advice were "don't let that baby get too big." I'm not really sure how I can prevent that so if anyone has a clue, let me know.
We are definitely enjoying the warmer weather here. I have been trying to at least walk around the block every day that it isn't raining. Of course, Tiffer is enjoying that. Jarrett and I are both looking forward to summer when we can take Tiffer and the baby out for a walk!
The nursery is just about finished. Jarrett put the last coat of paint on the closet Wednesday and is hoping to put the closet organizer up this evening. I plan on spending Spring Break (next week!) washing baby clothes and bedding, this way the nursery can really be put together.

Week 33

Tiffer decided to help with the baby stuff this
afternoon!
Actually, she was attempting to bury a bone but it sounded good. As promised, here's the latest picture of me. It looks like a basketball!

Week 32

Well it has been a hectic few weeks here! It is the end of the 3rd nine weeks at school, so there are millions of things to be done and I have fallen behind on my blog! My doctor's appointment on March 8 went really well. My doctor did let me in on a little secret. . .I'm short! He told me that the reason I look so BIG is because I am so short. Apparently he didn't think I was already aware of that :).

On March 11, my mom and dad's church threw me a wonderful baby shower and proved to me once again how blessed I am. From the shower I received a crib, mattress, changing table, and glider. Everything that is stacked on the changing table was also given to us as well. My parents have already started spoiling the little guy. They provided us with all the accessories for the crib and room (sheet, quilt, bumper, dust ruffle, diaper holder, and valence). We had to take a truck out to bring it all home, since my dad was wonderful enough to put all the furniture together for us. We came home Sunday and in just a short time our nursery was practically complete!

As many of you already knew, my fingers have been swollen for some time. The doctor isn't really worried about it because my blood pressure has been fine, however I haven't been able to get my wedding band and engagement ring off. Last night, Jarrett and I went to the jewelry store and had them cut off before they cut off circulation. It was a sad moment but I have been assured that they can be saudered back together and be almost as good as new.

In the next day or so I will get a new picture posted. As the doctor says, I'm huge.

Week 31

Things are still going relatively well. I had a split lip that turned into a cold sore or some kind of infection this week. It was pretty yucky but not really related to the pregnancy. I ended up staying home from school on Thursday because it was so bad. My left cheek was swollen and I had a massive headache. The only thing the doctor told me to do was take Tylenol and put blistex on it, so that's what I did. I was feeling much better on Friday and it is almost completely cleared up now.

Jarrett is continuing to work really hard to get the nursery
done. My first baby shower is next Sunday so he's trying to get it painted this week so we have place to put stuff. He installed a ceiling fan in the room this week and has been patching up an old outlet that doesn't work. The closet as you can see from the picture still hasn't been primed yet, Jarrett can't bring himself to get rid of the green yet.
