Pre-Christmas Fun

Jonah discovered that he LOVES sugar cookies. He has "helped" me the last few days in making them, mostly he has enjoyed eating them:)
He was being extremely generous this evening and decided to share his cookie with Aunt Jenna.

Jonah got a new outfit to wear to church the Sunday before Christmas. We took advantage of it and decided to snap some pictures in front of our Christmas tree.

Fall 2008

We took advantage of the great weather today and played outside a little. Jonah loves playing on the slide and swinging.
His cousins, Kaleb and Lucas came over and played with him a little and he loved that!

He has been sitting so well this weekend, close to 20 minutes at a time which is a HUGE improvement. We decided to try it outside and let him play in the leaves a little.

He really enjoyed picking the leaves up and throwing them.

Hmm. . .which ones should I pick up?

Halloween

Charlie Brown and Snoopy
Jonah and Aunt Amber playing before we went trick or treating.

Jonah kept leaning down to give Tiffer hugs and kisses and ended up with paint all over his face from Tiffer's "costume."

I love reading!

Jonah is doing really well sitting on his stool. He will sit there for close to 15 minutes at times.
He enjoys sitting there with one of his books to read.
He also likes looking through Daddy's magazines, they have lots of cool cars in them!
He used to tear pages in the magazines but he does really well with them now. He tries to turn the pages and points to different things on the pages. Overall he really just enjoys books. He finds his books all over the house and will look through them for the longest time. Then he will roll over to one of us with his book so we will read it to him. He has a really good attention span while we are reading which is good since some of them are a little long.

Fall Fun

My parents came the last weekend in September to attend Ducktail Run with us. Jonah enjoyed looking at the cars and eating the food (yummy hot dogs!). He spent time playing with Pap on the foot stool, just kneeling there for quite awhile.

Jarrett was in a wedding October 11 for a good friend of his, Justin. Jarrett and Justin grew up together (they were born exactly a month apart) and Justin was in our wedding as well.
We went to the pumpkin patch in Wabash this weekend as well. Jonah enjoyed picking out his pumpkin and eating pumpkin pie. He was pretty worn out though because he fell asleep during the bumpy hay ride.

Laudry Room Update

Jarrett and his brother Kirk have been working hard on our laundry room the last few weeks.
We now have walls!
This is inside the laundry room, looking behind the house. The next step is the trusses which are sitting the front yard :)

16 Months

Jonah rolled himself to the door to watch Jarrett and Uncle Kirk work on the laundry room addition. He tried chewing on Jarrett's shoe while he watched.
In therapy, Jonah practices walking using this walker. This kind of walker is better than something that you push and walk behind because here he is doing all the work. He is making progress and desperately wants to walk, he just has to get his mind and feet doing the same thing at the same time :)
Jonah is now trying to drink by himself. He isn't always successful but he is trying. He will put the cup up towards his mouth but doesn't always make it in. Oh well, at least he has the right idea!
Jonah is expanding his vocabulary all the time. He seems to know a good amount of words but he doesn't always say them. I had him looking at himself in the mirror and I asked who it was and he told me "gonah." He pointed to a stroller going by the house and said baby. He regularly says more, usually in reference to food and in a slightly demanding way. He also has been saying go and yeah.
Jarrett was eating a pear on Saturday and Jonah started licking his lips. He loves pears but has never had one right on the core, so we let him try biting it. He did pretty well and kept wanting another bite. He has been eating all "people" food for about a month now. He loves grilled cheese, applesauce, oatmeal, pizza, and just about anything. He always eats really well and is not picky at all.

Curley Family Reunion

Jonah and Jarrett in the outhouse
A family picture in front of the outhouse. . .you know you are a redneck if. . .
Grandpa, Grandma, and Jonah
Pap, Grandma, and Jonah on the 4-wheeler
Jarrett, Dara, and Jonah on the 4-wheeler
We had a nice time at the Curley Reunion at Great Uncle Dan's house. We rode the 4-wheeler, sat around the fire talking, played with Jonah, and reminisced. It was fun to be there but we wish we could have stayed longer.

5 Generations

We finally made it to Pennsylvania this summer! We spent a little time in the Clearfield area (Central Pa) and we were able to take a 5 generation Williams picture. I have been wanting one since Jonah was born and we were finally able to get all of us together. Jonah's great-great grandfather is 92 and is still going strong. We are very lucky to be able to take a picture like this.
Jonah took to his great-pap really well for never meeting him. He sat and played with him for quite awhile.

Jonah is doing MUCH better with sitting on his own. He will sit for several minutes at a time now and he is really good at finding his balance right away. He is making great progress and his therapists (he is seeing a physical therapist and an occupational therapist now) keep telling me how smart he is. Of course, I already knew that!
Jonah has been in the "big" pool several times now and he LOVES it. He splashes all around and doesn't mind when he gets water on his face. He has bounced around in the water in my arms and water has gone in his mouth and he didn't care one bit. He is a little fish!
Thanks to Grandma Williams, Jonah loves to play "Honk, Honk." He grabs onto a nose and tries to say honk, honk. It comes out pretty close to the actual word.

Sleeping and New Toys

Jonah and Daddy sleeping. . .For a couple days Jonah was waking up early and just wanted to be held. He was working on at least 3 teeth during that time so we didn't fight it too much. We took turns getting each day and sleeping with him on the couch. I got up before they did one morning and was lucky enough to catch this. They looked so peaceful together. Jarrett told me that Jonah kept playing with his face while they were sleeping.
Aunt Erin gave Jonah a little pool to have at home and he tried it out on Sunday. He loved it! He sat up in it for awhile but it is so much more fun to lay down and splash.
This is Jonah's new car. A handle attaches to the back so we can push him around in it. He holds on to the steering wheel and grins. He moves back and forth in it, trying to go faster. He also leans down and tries to eat the steering wheel.
I love the look on his face. I am not really sure what was going on, but he looks somewhat stunned.

Big Stuff

I was checking on Jonah the other day during his nap, and this is how he was sleeping. He must have had a rough day.
Jonah is tolerating tummy time a lot more now. He loves playing with his alligator xylophone. He bangs on it all the time. He gets SUPER mad that he mallet doesn't come off. Thanks to the Unrath family for the great gift!
Jonah thinks he is big stuff now that he can roll over both ways. He is rolling all over the living room and we never know where we will find him if leave the room for even a minute.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Jonah, Happy Birthday to you!
Hmm, this feels kinda weird and I'm not sure if I like it.
Chocolate cake is so much fun. . .
