Laudry Room Update

Jarrett and his brother Kirk have been working hard on our laundry room the last few weeks.
We now have walls!
This is inside the laundry room, looking behind the house. The next step is the trusses which are sitting the front yard :)

16 Months

Jonah rolled himself to the door to watch Jarrett and Uncle Kirk work on the laundry room addition. He tried chewing on Jarrett's shoe while he watched.
In therapy, Jonah practices walking using this walker. This kind of walker is better than something that you push and walk behind because here he is doing all the work. He is making progress and desperately wants to walk, he just has to get his mind and feet doing the same thing at the same time :)
Jonah is now trying to drink by himself. He isn't always successful but he is trying. He will put the cup up towards his mouth but doesn't always make it in. Oh well, at least he has the right idea!
Jonah is expanding his vocabulary all the time. He seems to know a good amount of words but he doesn't always say them. I had him looking at himself in the mirror and I asked who it was and he told me "gonah." He pointed to a stroller going by the house and said baby. He regularly says more, usually in reference to food and in a slightly demanding way. He also has been saying go and yeah.
Jarrett was eating a pear on Saturday and Jonah started licking his lips. He loves pears but has never had one right on the core, so we let him try biting it. He did pretty well and kept wanting another bite. He has been eating all "people" food for about a month now. He loves grilled cheese, applesauce, oatmeal, pizza, and just about anything. He always eats really well and is not picky at all.

Curley Family Reunion

Jonah and Jarrett in the outhouse
A family picture in front of the outhouse. . .you know you are a redneck if. . .

Jarrett, Dara, and Jonah on the 4-wheeler
We had a nice time at the Curley Reunion at Great Uncle Dan's house. We rode the 4-wheeler, sat around the fire talking, played with Jonah, and reminisced. It was fun to be there but we wish we could have stayed longer.

5 Generations

We finally made it to Pennsylvania this summer! We spent a little time in the Clearfield area (Central Pa) and we were able to take a 5 generation Williams picture. I have been wanting one since Jonah was born and we were finally able to get all of us together. Jonah's great-great grandfather is 92 and is still going strong. We are very lucky to be able to take a picture like this.
Jonah took to his great-pap really well for never meeting him. He sat and played with him for quite awhile.

Jonah is doing MUCH better with sitting on his own. He will sit for several minutes at a time now and he is really good at finding his balance right away. He is making great progress and his therapists (he is seeing a physical therapist and an occupational therapist now) keep telling me how smart he is. Of course, I already knew that!
Jonah has been in the "big" pool several times now and he LOVES it. He splashes all around and doesn't mind when he gets water on his face. He has bounced around in the water in my arms and water has gone in his mouth and he didn't care one bit. He is a little fish!
Thanks to Grandma Williams, Jonah loves to play "Honk, Honk." He grabs onto a nose and tries to say honk, honk. It comes out pretty close to the actual word.

Sleeping and New Toys

Jonah and Daddy sleeping. . .For a couple days Jonah was waking up early and just wanted to be held. He was working on at least 3 teeth during that time so we didn't fight it too much. We took turns getting each day and sleeping with him on the couch. I got up before they did one morning and was lucky enough to catch this. They looked so peaceful together. Jarrett told me that Jonah kept playing with his face while they were sleeping.
Aunt Erin gave Jonah a little pool to have at home and he tried it out on Sunday. He loved it! He sat up in it for awhile but it is so much more fun to lay down and splash.
This is Jonah's new car. A handle attaches to the back so we can push him around in it. He holds on to the steering wheel and grins. He moves back and forth in it, trying to go faster. He also leans down and tries to eat the steering wheel.
I love the look on his face. I am not really sure what was going on, but he looks somewhat stunned.
