11 Months Old

We have been putting food in the chopper for Jonah the last couple weeks. He desperately wants to eat our food but he doesn't always know what to do with it. We have found that putting it in the chopper is an easy solution. We started with hamburger helper and we have moved to lasagna, which he loved! A meal isn't complete for Jonah until he gets it ALL over himself. I am beginning to think he does it on purpose so we'll put him in the tub!
Jonah's latest thing is giving Mommy a hug. After I pick him up from school he puts his arms around my neck and squeezes! I love it and it makes the day SO much better.
Apparently we don't feed Jonah enough because he thought it was necessary to chew on Aunt Jenna's arm! She said he was biting down pretty hard.

Spring Break

Jonah got a road rug for Easter from Grandpa and Grandma Richards. It will look great in his bedroom. Jonah loves the Tonka truck that came with it. I think it is his new favorite toy!
Where's Jonah?!?!
Peek-a-boo!
Peek-a-boo is Jonah's new favorite game. He makes sure he completely covers us his eyes so he can't see you. He plays the game with his bib or blanket but has found that his arm works just as well.

Physical Therapy

Jonah has started physical therapy two times a week. The PT is working on Jonah's gross motor skills. One of the things Jonah's physical therapist has us working on is kneeling. This will help his balance for other gross motor skills. He is doing well with his therapy and we do stretches every day to work out his muscles.

Easter

We spent Easter in Gas City this year. We went to my parent's house last weekend. Jonah looks pretty handsome in his new Easter outfit from Pap and Gramma. His tie has whales on it!
Aunt Jenna spent part of the day with us. She came and went with us to church and she also had lunch with us at Grandma Fischer's house. Jonah loved the mashed potatoes of course!
Jonah took some time during the day to lounge in our big, comfy chair.

Playtime!

Jonah really enjoys sitting in this chair now. He could sit there forever! He isn't interested in laying on the floor for very long anymore, he wants to see everything. He's certainly ornery.

This is how we usually find Jonah when he wakes up. . .playing with his mirror toy. His new thing now is waving to himself in the mirror. He also likes playing with the attachments on the mirror.

Family Time

We spent part of the weekend at my mom and dad's new house. Jonah had fun playing with everyone, including the dogs. My dad got a kick out of putting Jonah's hands into his pockets and Jonah just humored him!
Jonah got a kick out of Grandpa Mook while they were visiting. He enjoyed cuddling up to him and laughing and talking with him. Of course, Grandma Mook sang to him and he was in heaven!

9 Months!!!!!!

Jonah's 9 month photo
Jonah had his 9 month check up this afternoon and all went well. He now weighs 18 lb 11 oz and is 30 3/8" long. She told us to try soft, smushy table foods with him as often as we would like and see how he does. We are also working on a sippy cup with meals and he is doing pretty well with it. He likes to hold it but doesn't usually make it to his mouth.
We've really been working on sitting up and he's doing pretty well with it. He sat in his crib for a good amount of time for him so we're making progress. He is getting to the point where he doesn't like to lay on his back for very long, he wants to be up where he can see more. I think this is motivating him to sit up more. He's taken more of an interest in playing with toys and really wants to be entertained.
He loves sitting in his walker and playing. He usually moves it backwards but he did go forward one time. He's going to be a heartbreaker one of these days! He LOVES to stand up and in the last few days has started to stand for several seconds holding onto something. Obviously he doesn't pull himself up yet but he is standing on his own in tiny increments and improving his balance.
